Slovenia was so good its taken me till Croatia to write about it! After a hot couple of weeks in Italy the cool mountain air and the icy waters of the river Soca were a welcome change, I even put trousers on. The entire country seems to be geared up for tourism and the information place in the small town on Bovec was open on a sunday evening!

We decided to way lay the white water rafting due to 8′C water and hired some mountain bikes for the day. Despite the “easy” rating on the guide brochure the track was really pretty much none existent at times, Slovenes are hardcore mountain bikers and we were in the minority wearing normal cotton clothing as opposed to skin tight lycra. nice.

Ljubljiana was equally fun, but for slightly different reasons! we stayed in a commune called Metelkova just outside the centre and discovered that the majority of the city descent there in the evening, even on a tuesday! Metal music was roared at us so we made a cup of tea, had a nice sit down, and chatted to a french boy.

Word up lads, great to hear you are still having a good time!

I am still alive, just had possibly the busiest few weeks of my life. London is good fun and all, apart from the Northern Line at 8am. I celebrated the Ethiopian millennium last Tuesday, there were about 4000 people in Trafalgar Square! Anyways, I miss the van like crazy and hope the rest of the trip is as good as the first few weeks were!

Lots of love, Sammy B
